Information Technology | Information System Specialist 

Location : Doral, Florida 
Clearance:  TS/SCI

Job Responsibilities 

  • Perform daily backup operations ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.

  • Conduct scans and identify vulnerabilities in the ESS network in accordance with all applicable DoD References and recommend corrective actions to the PHYSEC Branch Leadership.

  • Provide monitoring, review, analysis, and evaluation of ESS process, technology, and assesses and recommend upgrades to maintain system viability.

  • Apply and upgrade OS patches and STIGs, upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

  • Configure and add new services as necessary.

  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.

  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions.

  • Administer core network services (DNS, DHCP etc. ); Virtualization i.e. Hyper-V; Database i.e. SQL; Network Storage Server i.e. NETAPP; and Network/Server support.

  • Monitor and verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, key processes, reviewing system and application logs.

  • Ensure all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.  

Job Requirements 

  • Must possess a current DoD Top Secret (TS) Clearance (Interim acceptable) based upon a Tier 5 Investigation adjudicated in the past five (5) years with a determination of eligibility access for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

  • Must possess an Associate degree or five (5) years of specialized experience. 

  • Must be certified in DoD 8570.01-M, DFARS 252.239.7991, and AR 25-2.

  • Must be an experienced Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Must possess a valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).  

  • Must have experience in Windows Server Operating Systems (Windows 2012 Server, etc). A Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows 2012 or Windows 2016 Certification is preferred .

  • Must have experience with Unix/Linux administration, administrating core network services (DNS, DHCP, etc.) Virtualization i.e. Hyper- V; Database i.e. SQL; Network Storage Server i.e. NETAPP; Network. Server monitoring verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing  system and application logs. 

  • Must have direct knowledge and application of DoD governing laws, regulations, precedents, and directives supporting security program (e.g. information, personnel, physical, industrial) and operational, procedural, and technical standards that achieve interoperability with other non-DoD Federal Government Agencies. 

  • Must have working knowledge using Records Message Traffic (RMT) and the Automated Message Handling System (AMHS).

  • Must have knowledge of the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and Department of Defense ( DoD) Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g. SIPR, NIPR and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems (JWICS) networks), and the Information Technology (IT)/ Cyber security rules and regulatory authorities to develop and implement policies and planning concepts , and project management methods. 

  • Must have general knowledge and perspective of the operational, procedural and technical standards that achieve interoperability with other non-DoD Federal Government agencies.

  • Must be proficient using basic Microsoft Office software applications to include SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
