Personnel Security Specialist ( Personnel Security Task)

Location : Doral, Florida 
Clearance: TS/SCI

Job Responsibilities 

  • Assist with executing non-disclosure agreements, conducting indoctrinations, initial security briefings and debriefings, and creating and updating local personnel security records and files.

  • Establish and disestablish appropriate security relationship in the personnel security system of record (e.g.JPAS, DISS, SC, etc) and update records.

  • Process in and out-going clearance certification and visit access requests (e.g. VAR, PERMCERT, etc).

  • Ensure information from all incoming requests is entered in the database.

  • Notify government PERSEC Manager of any derogatory, conflicting, or questionable data from security entities.  

  • Review submitted security investigative paperwork from completeness.

  • Prepare and maintain security clearance investigation status reports and rosters and access badge reports and rosters.

  • Create and maintain electronic and hardcopy personnel security records and files.

  • Destroy local files in accordance with applicable records management disposition instructions.

  • Process SCI eligibility, nominations, and polygraph request.

  • Through the e-QIP process, initiate and submit investigations to OPM.

Job Requirements 

  • Must possess a current DoD Top Secret (TS) Clearance( Interim acceptable) based upon a Tier 5 Investigation adjudicated in the past five (5) years with a determination of eligibility access for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

  • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma, preferably a Bachelor's Degree.

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing Personnel Security Support Services, preferable in DoD.

  • Must have five years of experience using personnel security processing tools, including the DoD personnel security system of record (e.g. JPAS, DISS) and e-QIP.

  • Must have direct knowledge and application of Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and the DoD EAF (e.g.SIPR, NIPR, and JWICS networks), RMT, AMHS, and the Information Technology (IT)| Cybersecurity rules and regulatory authorities to develop and implement policies and planning concepts, and project management methods. 

  • Must have direct knowledge and application of DoD governing laws, regulations, precedents, and directives supporting security programs(e.g. information, personnel, physical, industrial) and operational, procedural, and technical standards that achieve interoperability with other non-DoD Federal Government Agencies. 

  • Must be proficient using basic Microsoft Office software applications to include SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
